Investigating the Role of School Principals in Attracting Teachers to Schools based on Invitational Theory: A Mixed Method Research

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyzing the ethics foundations of supervising teachers in virtual education. This research was developmental-applied in terms of purpose and in terms of qualitative-quantitative mixed method with sequential exploratory approach. The research field of the qualitative part included 22 school principals and university professors knowledgeable in the field of monitoring virtual education, who were selected by the snowball method and at the theoretical saturation level. The statistical population of the quantitative part was made up of principals of elementary and secondary schools in Bukan city, and 120 people were randomly selected as a sample using Morgan's sample size method. The interviews were analyzed by theme analysis (theme, category and concept coding). The validity of the qualitative part was investigated by the method according to Goba and Lincoln (2000) with four criteria of validity, transferability, reliability and confirmability, and to evaluate the reliability of the interview protocol, the agreement percentage method between two coders was used. In the quantitative part, the method of structural equations was used, and the reliability of all dimensions in the Cronbach's alpha test was reported to be more than 0.7, and its divergent and convergent validity were also confirmed. Based on the findings of the research, managers' supervision of teachers' virtual activities is subject to three main themes: personal character, teacher's social ethics, and spiritual-social ethics in the form of 5 primary themes: monitoring behavior, monitoring educational content, professional ethics, monitoring relationships, and monitoring attitudes. And there were 29 concepts. According to the results, he presented a framework for monitoring teachers in virtual education, which according to experts, the proposed framework of this research has good validity and suitability.
